A pizzeria with soul

Hot oven, cold drinks, good tunes.

Urban Pizza has been feeding the Oura strip for years the same way: dough made in house, a big modern oven that never gets a night off, and a room that never quite settles down once the band starts.

The pizza list runs from a plain Margherita to the loaded Urban, and if none of them is quite yours, you build your own. Around it there are ciabattas, salads, pastas, steaks off the grill and desserts that were designed to be photographed. Breakfast is served too, because holidays start at different hours.

The service is quick and speaks your language, whichever one that is. Bring twelve people for a birthday, book the corner for a hen party, or come alone at eleven at night for a late beer and a slice. Nobody will rush you.

Not a Friday thing. Not a summer thing. Seven nights a week the amps go on around half past seven and the room changes character. Entry is free, you only need a table, and the closer you book, the better it sounds.

Free entry to the music, you only need somewhere to sit. Tables near the stage go first at weekends, so book ahead if that is where you want to be.

Questions people actually ask

Is there live music every night?

Yes. Seven nights a week, starting at 19:30 and playing through dinner. Entry is free, you only need a table.

Where exactly are you?

Right on the Oura strip, in Areias de Sao Joao: Praceta do Sol Nascente, just after the CTT post office. Around ten minutes by car from Albufeira old town.

What time do you open and close?

Every day from 08:30. The kitchen serves until 23:30, and the house closes at 02:00 at the latest.

Do I need to book?

Walk ins are welcome. In summer and at weekends the room fills once the music starts, so book if you want a table near the stage.

Can I build my own pizza?

Yes. Pick your base and tell the kitchen what you want on it. The oven does not judge.

Can you host a birthday or a party?

Regularly. Birthdays, hen and stag nights, work dinners and small celebrations. Call or email and the team will sort the table.
